All of my customers wondered what happened to me in September of 2019.

I’m ready to talk about that now.

​

I was admitted to the hospital for depression. It was so severe, that I refer to it as a breakdown. After five days inpatient, I admitted myself to a seven week stay in a residential mental health facility. Each day was packed with group and individual meetings, as well as a ton of homework.

​

It saved my life.

​

Of course there's a huge backstory to what precipitated this. Just know that it was not work, not my customers, and not my family. I wish in some ways it were that simple.

​

Two years ago, I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder. It had been untreated my entire life. Medications were changed, and I've never felt better. I also see a therapist once a week, and a psychiatrist monthly.

​

I had never been hospitalized for mental health prior to 2019. I was a first born, type A entrepreneur my entire life. My pride and my religion kept me from getting the help I needed. It almost cost me my life at 61 years old.

​

Words cannot express the gratitude I have for my daughter, Amanda Runia, CPA, for taking over my business in my crisis. In-House Ally (her consulting business) has truly been an ally to all of us.

​

Now Amanda’s professional plate has become full.

​

It’s time for me to help her 40 or so remaining customers (previously mine) to move to a different platform.

​

I’m excited to reconnect with long lost friends as I help them find the best, safest, and most affordable solutions moving forward.

A final note:

Don't assume that everyone you know is “doing fine.” Take the risk of having uncomfortable conversations. I was backed into a corner and basically forced inpatient. If your friend or family member “hates” you for the intervention, they'll get over it. Trust me.
